And what do you know. So do I.

I'm just heading out for another professional journalist gig: a local rodeo.

But for the record, I think it's time to get back on the horse and start keeping this blog up to date again with my thoughts on what's happening in and around my little corner of the Internet.

I just got done writing to both of my senators, urging them to vote against the nomination of Sam Alito and the proposed fillibuster against him. I consider this fringe man an all-out assault on our civil liberties -- especially a woman's right to choose what happens to her own body (he's a slam-dunk bet to overthrow Roe v. Wade -- the rights of the individual to have access to the judicial system (he wrote, thankfully in the minority, to deny access to judicial recourse a family whose 10-year-old son was shot and killed by police after stealing a purse) as well as the checks and balances built into the constitution between the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government.

It's time to put up or shut up, Democrats. Fight. Don't roll over.
